The Relationship between International Volunteering and Community-based Volunteering
We invite you to participate in an online survey on The Relationship between International Volunteering and Community-based Volunteering. Participants must be at least 18 years of age and Canadian Citizens or landed immigrants. This online survey should take about 20-30 minutes to complete. Participation is voluntary, and responses will be kept confidential. If you have volunteered abroad for any period of time at any time in your life, we welcome your participation in this study.
The Government of Canada is interested in the diverse contributions of international volunteers and is supporting several data collection projects to better understand the impacts of international volunteering abroad and within Canadian communities. Two surveys are being conducted in 2018: The first (completed in June 2018) focussed on the Volunteer Cooperation Program outcomes (effectiveness, efficiency, relevance and sustainability) in developing country partner communities; and the second (the current survey launched in September 2018) to consider the long-term volunteering trends and the relationship between international volunteering and locally-based community volunteering upon return to Canada. We welcome your participation in either or both of these complementary studies which have been designed in consultation with Canadian volunteer cooperation agencies.
The survey platform will be open from September 6 – October 15, 2018. Please complete your survey response by October 15th, 2018.
